About Us
I love the serenity of the outdoors, the mountains, and especially the southern Colorado Mountains around Platoro, Colorado. I have a small cabin in Platoro and spend every day possible hiking and backpacking in the mountains around the cabin. When I started hiking these mountains I wasn’t privy to a good guide which provided information on the adventures in the area (hikes, backpacks, trailheads, sites to see, areas where wildlife is prevalent, fishing spots, etc.) so I decided to develop this site for future visitors to Platoro and possibly for current residents or others that frequent Platoro but aren’t aware of all there is to do in the area. Also, I’m approaching retirement and when that day comes I intend offer my services as a hiking and backpacking guide and will use this site as the basis of that business. If anyone has ideas for improving this site or would like to share ideas for adventures around the platoro area, please let me know, I’m interested.
